Christian Music and videos

Gospel music was born from the traditional hymns and spiritual songs the Africans sang during the slave era. The spirituals were songs of hope sung by the enslaved people before freedom/emancipation. The traditional hymns were introduced in the United States by the Europeans who had settled in North America.
Contemporary Christian music came from the Jesus movement revival of the latter 1960s and early 1970s, and was originally called “Jesus music”. Pioneers of this movement also included 2nd Chapter of Acts, Andraé Crouch and the Disciples, Evie, Nancy Honeytree, The Imperials, Love Song, Barry McGuire, and Petra.
Christian Rap is a genre of music defined by its rhythmic lyrics spoken or chanted over a (usually) syncopated and repetitive beat. Christian rap music follows the same musical pattern but with lyrics that tie into the Christian faith.
Christian rock is a form of rock music that features lyrics focusing on matters of Christian faith, often with an emphasis on Jesus, typically performed by Christian individuals. The extent to which their lyrics are explicitly Christian varies between bands. Many bands who perform Christian rock have ties to the contemporary Christian music labels, media outlets, and festivals, while other bands are independent
Blues-based gospel music (a combination of blues guitar and evangelistic lyrics). Notable gospel blues performers include Thomas A. Dorsey (the “founder” of gospel blues), Blind Willie Johnson, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Reverend Gary Davis. Blues musicians such as Blind Lemon Jefferson, Charley Patton, Sam Collins, Josh White, Blind Boy Fuller, Blind Willie McTell, Bukka White, Sleepy John Estes and Skip James have recorded a fair number of Gospel and religious songs
Christian pop tends to be very upbeat and catchy. When thinking about Christian music, this is what usually pops into peoples’ minds first. This tends to be the most well known of the other genres. Some well known artists that are a perfect example of this is Tenth Avenue North, Sanctus Real, and Francesca Battistelli.
Christian Country music, sometimes referred to as Country Gospel music, is a sub-genre of Gospel music with a country flair, is also known as Inspirational Country. It originated as a blend of early mountain music, cowboy music, and the music from the plantations of the Deep South. Today, Christian Country music has blended with a new brand of music called Positive Christian Country music
Gospel reggae is a genre of music that originated in Jamaica, mixing reggae rhythms with Christian-themed lyrics. Several reggae artists, many of whom were previously part of the Rastafari movement, have converted to Christianity and adopted gospel reggae as their primary style.
Metal is made of heavy breakdowns, intense vocals, and electric guitars. Christian metal worships God with the heavy aspect that some people tend to lean towards. Some great musicians to check out are As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, and Sleeping Giant.
Gospel Choir fosters love and compassion among the members of the choir through song.
When people think of traditional hymns, they often think of Amazing Grace or How Great Thou Art. These are both great songs, but there are many other types of traditional hymns. Many churches today still use them in their worship services and many contemporary Christian churches have a unique sound thanks to unique takes on traditional hymns.

Not My Home
After Death Music Inspired by Motion Picture
NOT MY HOME Lyrics
Oh I can’t wait for heaven I know this world is not my home These earthly walls will crumble But there’s a city still to come
THIS WORLD IS NOT MY HOME THIS WORLD IS NOT MY HOME I’VE GOT HEAVEN ON MY MIND I CAN FEEL IT IN MY BONES THIS WORLD IS NOT MY HOME THIS WORLD IS NOT MY HOME I’VE GOT HEAVEN ON MY HEART I’VE GOT HEAVEN IN MY SOUL
There is a day that’s coming We see Your kingdom crashing in The schemes of man are trembling And all will bow before the King
There’ll be day without night And life without death World without end This is heaven
There’ll be peace without threat And hope without fear No shadows there This is heaven
I can’t wait for love without fail And Christ without veil We’ll see face to face This is heaven
And we’ll sing Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah King of heaven
And when we meet in glory His face at last I will behold The end becomes beginning Beginning of forevermore The beginning of forevermore

O Praise the Lord
O Praise The Lord was written by Steve Davis, Jordan Colle and Maryanne J. George. This video was captured in Richmond, Virginia in early 2021.
Lyrics
When beginning breathed It was me and you You in me Only love between As we walked between Tress of green
But I lose my sight To temptations eyes And believed my fruit would give me life What I didn't know Was how far you'd go For your bridge
O praise the Lord For we are His body O lamb of God We live to bring you glory
From the garden fields To the cross and nails You had a plan With Your hands out wide Heaven stepped aside And it began
When you bowed your head Trading life for death Every stone was turned and body raised Blood and water met Our unrighteousness So the house of God would come alive
O praise the Lord For we are His body O lamb of God We live to bring you glory Be magnified, be glorified In all that we do O praise the Lord We live to bring you glory
With the doors torn down And the veil in two We have a way To see hearts of stone Melt before your throne And meet your grace
With authority Every eye will see All your power and your glory on display Every color skin Will be welcomed in And we'll lift the name, above all names
